We offer body routing templates, and pickguard routing templates, for installation of a Bill Lawrence L-500 series Humbucker in your Fernandes RST model electric guitar.
The body routing template can be purchased as a 3-piece kit, allowing perfect centering of your body routing template over the existing single coil bridge pickup. You just insert the pickup alignment tool of the template into the existing single coil pickup routing, drop the spacer around the pickup alignment tool, and then secure the routing template around the spacer. Remove the spacer and pickup alignment tool, set the proper depth on your router, and allow your pattern routing bit to go to work in making a perfect body route for your L-500 pickup. Additionally, the main component of the body routing template kit, the actual routing template, can be purchased individually for use with any other guitar.
The pickguard routing template will snap into the pickguard of any Fernandes RST, Fender Stratocaster, or Fender Stratocaster copy. You will us a pattern routing bit on your router to make this precise cut for your L-500 series pickup.
Please note that a router and a pattern routing bit will be needed in order to use either of these templates. We do not offer pattern routing bits, but any type of flush trim pattern routing bit without a very aggressive design should work great.
